Our Work

Building for the Future

"Similar in size to a small commercial aircraft without wings, hyperloop’s pressurized capsules levitate on a near-frictionless magnetic field within the tubes...

...with the air inside the tube drastically reduced, the capsule can achieve high speeds with less energy consumption."

Hyperloop overview

Hyperloop is an innovative tube-based inter and intra-city transportation system designed to revolutionize travel by moving people and goods at airplane speeds safely, efficiently, and sustainably.

Technology

Capsule

Capsules levitate inside a tube using next-generation magnetic technology, a linear electric motor for propulsion, and embedded rechargeable batteries. The low-pressure environment inside the tube, created with vacuum technology, significantly reduces friction, allowing for higher speeds and providing a safer, cleaner, and quieter mode of transport. The infrastructure is optimized for flexibility, with elevated sections that can accommodate tunneling and extend into underground segments.

By leveraging efficient energy use and renewable sources, the system aims to be net-energy positive over a year of operation, making it the only sustainable high-speed transportation.

Infrastructure

“The HyperloopTT system has a  low implementation cost compared to other high-speed transportation methods. As a civil infrastructure project covering long distances, there will be segments that are above ground, at grade, and below ground, optimized to meet unique local conditions.

The HyperloopTT system reduces the environmental costs of large-scale infrastructure projects through its inherently energy-efficient design and the integration of renewable energy capture technology. By harnessing renewable energy, operational costs are also lowered. The system operates in a low-pressure, fully enclosed environment which eliminates traditional hazards from weather and traffic crossings, significantly improving efficiency and reliability.” Hyperloop TT

Station

“The HyperloopTT station is designed around the passenger. Every moment along the journey is engineered to deliver a frictionless experience with digital ticketing, biometric check-in, wayfinding, and an on-demand boarding system.

Our stations are specifically built for local environments. Following a transit-oriented development approach, the stations seamlessly integrate with existing first and last-mile solutions while providing a dynamic space where passengers can access goods, on-demand services, and unique experiences. Stations are designed as vibrant and sustainable hubs, adding substantial value to the surrounding neighborhood while fostering a strong sense of connection and engagement within the community.” – Hyperloop TT

Levitation

“Our proprietary passive magnetic levitation technology called Inductrack™ is a game-changer for high-speed transportation. The magnets are arranged in a Halbach array configuration, enabling capsule levitation over an unpowered but conductive track. As capsules move through the low-pressure environment, they use very little energy on route thanks to the reduced drag forces.

Should there ever be a power failure, the capsule will automatically slow down and settle on its auxiliary wheels at low speed. The Inductrack™ system was tested and validated on a full-scale passive levitation track. HyperloopTT then improved the technology and optimized it for a low-pressure environment through testing in our prototype.” Hyperloop TT

Hyperloop & HS2

The cancellation of Phase 2 presents an opportunity to create a Hyperloop system that will connect Phase 1 where it finishes at Lichfield to Manchester and put Britain firmly at the front of global innovation once again.

As part of our work, we are proposing a feasibility study on replacing Phase 2 with a Hyperloop.
